Mojo Monday 71

I had fun with this sketch and got to use my new bunny stamp from "My Favorite Things". Okay, so I did use the Cuttlebug dots embossing folder, AGAIN, but you'll see that I also used the Cuttlebug "Bloom Dots" folder for the pink background because it went so well with the patterned paper. I had to throw some green into the mix because I wanted to use the cute polka dot ribbon I got from Michael's. The little glittered heart was a freebie I got from a recent online order. Thanks to the Mojo team for another great sketch!

Sweet Sunday Challenge #2

Thanks Karen for another challenging sketch. I love your baby card! I am still stuck on Valentine cards but need to move on to birthdays soon. Thanks for the opportunity to play.

Inks used in this design were choc chip and rose red. The background prints are from "My Minds Eye". The ribbon was store bought. The flower stamp with the heart center is from an acrylic set I have as well as the I love u stamp, which is part of an EK Success set recently purchased.

I'm really starting to like the choc, pink and red combo.

Sweet Sunday Challenge #1

Just discovered the Sweet Sunday Challenge and decided to give it a try. I'm trying to finish up my Valentine's cards so I can go on to some upcoming birthday cards. Thanks for letting me play!

Anniversary 2009

I've had this stamp for a few years and finally decided it's about time to use it for this year's anniversary card. I'm sure my hubby will get a kick out of it. I found this stamp in a bin at a stamping expo so I don't have the name of the company that made it as it was an unmounted stamp. I used Stampin' Up's Crosshatch background behind the chickens and the Houndstooth embossing folder by Cuttlebug behind that. There are heart brads and a jeweled heart for embellishments. I printed the "Wild Thing" off my computer and punched it with the large window punch from Stampin' Up.

Mojo 70

I thought I would try making my grandson's Valentine's card using the Mojo Monday challenge this week. I struggled a bit with the layout, but in the end it came together nicely, I think.

The patterned paper is Bo Bunny. The giraffe stamp is from Stamps By Judith and the Love stamp is Stampin' Up. I was excited to use my new Quickutz giraffe Goose Bumpz, which I also sponged lightly with Chocolate Chip ink. I used my nestibilities for the circle and scallop. There are heart brads and a punched and popped up heart to finish off the card. One more Valentine done!

Yet Another Valentine Card

If I keep this up, I will have all my Valentine's cards done soon. Then it will be on to baking some heart shaped cookies.

The layout for this card came from a card I saw on Splitcoast. What a wonderful resource for ideas that is. I'm going to try to hide this one to give to my hubby since he's seen the last two cards when I was photographing them. Hopefully, he won't be checking in on my blogspot anytime soon.

The hearts are Stampin' Up and the I Love U is from a clear acrylic set. I went back to the cuttlebug dots embossing folder again to accent the black background piece and used a Stampin' up punch for the red scallop. I popped up all of the hearts to give the card dimension. Now I have to find a place to hide it:)

Mojo Monday 69

I'm still on Valentine's cards and I had lots of fun with this sketch. I've been dying to branch out with my Cuttlebug embossing folders (I've kind of been stuck on those dots) and thought this folder went perfect with the frog theme. I also got to use some cute buttons that have been sitting around for too long. Hope it brings a smile to your face.
The candy striped paper is by "me & my BIG ideas" and the frog stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs (www.whippersnapperdesigns.com). I colored the frog and heart with prisma color pencils and oderless mineral spirits, then put on a layer of Diamond Glaze, cut and popped them. I used a couple of nestabilities dies for my scallop and circle and my Making Memories cutting tool for the white circle so I could cut out the heart outside of the circle.

Xmas Card for 2009

I designed this card at the end of last year but will save it for mass production this year. I love the penguin Quickutz die from a year ago. I finally got around to using it. The patterned paper was paper I picked up at Hobby Lobby this year. I bought a good supply of it as I thought it would make great backgrounds for Xmas cards. I used a cuttlebug embossing border on the red piece and added a couple of scored lines for accent. Again, I used the cuttlebug dots embossing folder on my oval and cut my ovals with my Making Memories cutting tools. I added a little glitter with my gel pen to the dots to make them sparkle and then finished it off with the silver snowflake brad and the tiny Xmas lights. Of course, adding the Xmas lights makes this not so postal friendly, unless it is packed safely away in a box, but I just couldn't resist.

First Birthday card of 2009

I love frogs and I have a big collection of frog stamps so it is always appropriate to start the year off with a froggy birthday card. I have 2 siblings that have birthdays in January and more often than not, one of them will get a frog card from me. I was so happy with how this turned out that I decided to make a big crop of frog cards to have on hand for relative's birthdays this year.

The cardstock is certainly celery and certainly celery Designer Paper from Stampin' Up. The frog is an Inkadinkado stamp that came from Michael's Craft store. The birthday sentiment and balloon are from clear acrylic sets.

Another Valentine Card

While I'm still in Valentine mode, I thought I would post this card that I did just before I tackled the Mojo Monday challenge. The stamps come from a new set called "Stamp Holidays" by EK Success. It's a really cute set of stamps that are perfect for punching and popping. The set includes stamps for Xmas, Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day and Graduation. There are 18 stamps altogether. I think I will get a lot of use out of this set.

I've been anxious to try a diagonal split paper layout as I have seen a lot of card samples on Splitcoast that I liked. I used the Cuttlebug dots embossing folder for the pink half. I love the look of the dots. I heat embossed the stamps using versa mark and clear embossing powder. I believe the pink paper is Stampin' up's "Pretty In Pink" and I believe I picked up the patterned paper at JoAnn Fabrics. The shiny paper I mounted the punched stamps on was a stray piece I had laying around collecting dust, but it matched perfectly for this project.

Mojo Monday Challenge 68

This is my first attempt at a Mojo Monday Challenge and my very first post to my new blogspot.

I pondered over the layout for most of the week and finally sat down to create this valentine card for my Hubby.

The Valentine tree is a new clear acrylic stamp set (Sending My Love) that I just purchased from "There She Goes Clear Stamps" (http://thereshegoesstore.com/info.aspx). I used Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip and Ruby Red, background paper is Kiss and Tell from "My Mind's Eye" (http://www.mymindseye.com/). I don't have the names of the companies that produced the Love You and Be Mine stamps but they came from acrylic sets with all Valentine stamps.

I stamped a second image of the tree in red, cut out all the little hearts and popped them all with dimensionals. It's much cuter in person. I also used several nestabilities dies as borders for the tree along with one cuttlebug dots embossing folder for the band on the bottom of the card.

Thanks for looking and I appreciate any comments or advice for the new kid on the block:)
